Even though some of these laser printers are several years old, they come highly recommended for their durability, speed, and quality printing. An added benefit of these not-so-new printers is that you can buy them for a fraction of their original price. And all these printers have remanufactured and OEM laser toner cartridges available at inkfarm.com. The prices and cost per page are listed below for your convenience.
Brother HL-1440 (MSRP $229.99) This Brother printer is a great, low cost, compact machine. It measures in at 14.2 by 16.9 by 9.3 inches and weighs just around 20 pounds, which make it a perfect fit for home offices. It’s quite fast, too, with a print speed of up to 15 ppm (pages per minute). The toner cartridges are affordable and long lasting. If you’re looking for a mix of speed and affordability, the Brother HL-1440 is a great choice. Inkfarm.com Brother HL 1440 remanufactured laser toner: $40.99 (6,000 estimated page yield, $0.006 per page)
Brother HL-2170W (Amazon.com: $312) The second Brother printer on our list is a bit pricier, but it has some major benefits for those willing to spend the extra money. It has a higher printing quality and faster printing speed (up to 23 ppm). The Brother HL-2170W is fast, with very little lag time between your computer and printer. It also has wireless connectivity, a major plus for those with limited desktop space. Inkfarm.com Brother HL-2170W remanufactured toner: $33.99 (2,600 estimated page yield, $0.01 per page)
Samsung ML-1740 (MSRP $149.99) Samsung manufactures a variety of great, reliable electronics and their printers also have an excellent track record. Even though Samsung produces many expensive, high end laser printers, the ML-1740 is the cheapest printer on our list. It’s extremely compact and light. It has great text printing quality at 17ppm, but greyscale images suffer from mediocre quality. It’s a great printer for a small business that doesn’t need to do a lot of printing, especially with images. Inkfarm.com Samsung ML-1740 remanufactured toner: $63.91 (3,000 estimated page yield, $0.02 per page)
Lexmark C532N Color Laser Printer (GreatPrinterDeals.com: $299) Unlike the monochrome printers on our list, this Lexmark is massive at 19 inches tall and weighing 57 pounds. That’s normal for color laser printers that need space for the three extra color toner cartridges. Another downside to color laser printers is that the cost of toner cartridges can be a bit more expensive. Quality color laser printers can be very expensive, but this Lexmark color printer is a great deal. It’s great for offices with high-volume printing needs. The C532N makes fast, quality prints (up to 24ppm) and it has automatic double-sided printing, a major time saver. If you’re environmentally conscious, this printer is eco-friendly with reduced power consumption and waste; it’s easy on the environment and on your wallet. Inkfarm.com Lexmark C532 toner cartridges : $104.99 black (4,000 estimated page yield, $0.03 per page) $119.99 each for cyan, magenta, and yellow colors (3,000 estimated page yield, $0.04 per page)
HP Color LaserJet 3500 (Rakuten.com (refurbished): $250) Our second color laser printer is great for anyone that does a lot of color printing. It’s not easy to find at your local office supply store, but a variety of online retailers still sell it. Rakuten.com (formerly buy.com) has a refurbished model available for a substantial discount. This HP printer makes speedy color prints, but the mono color speed suffers a bit. It’s also the heftiest printer on our list, weighing in at almost 72 pounds. If you want a low-cost color laser printer with good quality printing, the 3500 is an excellent choice. Inkfarm.com HP LaserJet 3500 laser toner: $67.99 black (5,000 estimated page yield, $0.01 per page) $72.99 each for cyan, magenta, and yellow colors (4,000 estimated page yield, $0.02 per page)

Clean print head
I noticed this list was posted in 2013. so I picked out a printer to look into getting one, and it is from 2005 (HP laserjet 3500). Seems like this list is a bit dated.
What a farce this article is! There are thousands of consumer reviews on Brother laser printers and how their cartridges don't even print 1/2 of the claimed pages. And you write this dribble.
Another place I recommend for discount toner cartridges online is http://www.tonerstore.com
