Printing Nuances and How to Fix Them

Although a printer is an essential part of business and, often times, personal life, many nuances can occur with print jobs. Of course they always seem to happen at the most inopportune times, or in the midst of a huge deadline. Running out to replace printer ink, a damaged part, or, in extreme cases, the entire printer, can be costly. Here are a few quick fixes for the next time you run into a printer emergency.

1) Help! My printer ink is drying up too quickly. This is a common issue among many HP printer owners with inkjet cartridges or those who may use their printers only occasionally. The easiest way to keep your ink fresh and of high quality is to print off a few sentences and a small color graphic at least twice a month. Or, if you know you wonít be using your printer for a month or two, remove the cartridges, replace the covers and throw them into an airtight bag until next needed. Ultimately, if you have frequent issues it may be best to opt for a laser printer.

2) The copy on my documents is coming out unclear or faded. If the ink on your next print job is a bit less than stellar, check your print settings first to ensure that youíre not using draft or economode. If not, your cartridges are probably low. Itís time for a replacement. Compatible or remanufactured ink is a more affordable option for those on a budget.

3) The ink keeps smearing on my prints. If this is occurring, it most likely means that the printer drum or ink kit is nearing its end and will need to be replaced. Before dishing out the dough to fix this annoying issue print 15-20 pages to see if the printer will correct itself on its own.

4) The paper keeps misfeeding, grabbing multiple pages or none at all. This is a common problem if you are using poor quality paper. First, replace the current paper with a new ream. Or, invest in some higher quality paper. Also, making sure that your printer tray is aligned correctly is essential. Be sure to follow the steps on the side of the printer.

5) The printer ink runs out too quickly. This is a problem many people face. One reason is that printers will automatically stop printing when they are triggered to think the ink cartridges should be running out of ink. Another reason is that some of the more common ink brands are putting less ink in their cartridges. One way to solve this problem and keep printer costs down is to purchase remanufactured ink cartridges. These cartridges provide cheap printer ink that still offer high print quality at a significantly reduced rate.

If youíre looking for high quality print and toner cartridges stop by inkfarm.com where youíll save big on all of your print and toner needs.

My 4 month old Canon MG 5420 printer suddenly is copying Black & white photos producing a picture with purple tone throughout.
Color prints are also much less than correct, the colors appearing faded.
I inadvertently am using non OEM cartridges.
After cleaning the print head I ran a test page.
A color test page did not reproduce the yellow color strip.
Q. Would removing all these cartridges and replacing with genuine Canon cartridges, solve this problem?
Q. Have I permanently damaged the printer by using non Canon products?

It sounds like this is a simple case of a defective cartridge. Whether it's an OEM or an after market cartridge, this can happen. I would recommend replacing the yellow cartridge and cleaning the print heads once more. If this doesn't solve the problem, you will most likely need to speak with your printer manufacturers tech support as it may be an internal issue. Based on the information you've provided, I would say that your printer isn't broken or damaged at all, and if it is, it's most likely just from use.

are the chips reconfigured on the cartridges you send out?

thank you

The 2 cyan blue cartridges are not working. I see the blue ink, however the sponge is not absorbing the ink so it can transfer to the page.

My Brother MFC-290C has worked great for years and now the magenta doesn't work. I have replaced it twice, cleaned the heads about 30 times and nothing has worked. Short of buying a new printer, can you give me any hints. Thanks
